This work, commissioned by the violinist Erik Carlson, states the entirety of the Midwinter Starfield Theme from Apparitions of The Four Pillars, harmonizing it with dense microtonal drones created on the UPIC system designed by Iannis Xenakis. The drones were created in 2004 at CCMIX in Paris, and were also used for the 2005 composition Separate Haven.
