The 72:81:88 ratio section of The Four Pillars holds a special place in the work's evolution.
These three notes sounding together as overtones of the fundamental create a shimmering tight harmony that focuses the energy on the 11 as well as combination tones that outline the core of The Four Pillars. Because the tones are in Just Intonation, the difference and combination tones created are rational, stable pitches that surround the fundamental frequency. These three tones effectively contain all that is The Four Pillars.
