Ever since first encountering his miraculous yarn pieces at Dia:Beacon last year I've been completely transfixed by the work of Fred Sandback. Something about the way his simple beautiful lines re-contextualize a space and the way it feels is totally magical.
His Untitled from my birth year is currently up at The Drawing Center and it's just as impressive as the larger scale works at Dia. This is work that profoundly challenges what art can do, and I'm absolutely loving it.
