Recipes: Mount Hiko Pearl
This is a cocktail I created based on the 'family' of cocktails referred to as a pearl à la the French Pearl at the Pegu Club and the Pearl of Puebla at PDT.
Named after Mount Hiko, where legend tells that Yuzu Kosho was first created:
Mount Hiko Pearl:
1 1/2 oz. Gin (I'm still working on the exact brand, I think Tanqueray might be right)
3/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1/2 oz. Green Chartreuse
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
1 barspoon Green Yuzu Kosho (a puree of yuzu rind with green chiles and salt)
2-3 leaves Thai Basil
dash orange bitters
Shake all ingredients with ice and double-strain into a cocktail coupe
Recipes: Peach Tea Julep
My latest cocktail recipe is for the Touch Recipe Book
A refreshing and addictive Peach Tea Julep made with tea-infused bourbon.
Recipes: Grapefruit Lime Soda
Wandering around the city this afternoon in the blaring sun, shopping for bizarre and varied ingredients for tonight's Cinco de Mayo dinner, i worked up quite a thirst, and made this upon returning home. It was delicious and refreshing:
Grapefruit Lime Soda:
Juice of 1 Lime
1 Tbs. Grapefruit syrup (1 part grapefruit juice, 1 part sugar cooked until just boiling and cooled - this can be stored in the refrigerator for a month or two once made)
mix over ice and top with club soda.
Refreshing!
P.S. - I'm gonna try to share more recipes for drinks and whatnot.
